Abstract

The levels of Pb, Cu, Cd and Zn in sawi (Barsssica rapa), ground kuna (Ipomea reptans), and spinach (Amaranthus tricolor) in the area of Paya Rumput Titipapan Medan village have been done. The goal is to know the levels of these metals in vegetables grown in the agricultural area of Paya Rumput Titipapan Village. Samples taken randomly in wash drained and weighed. Wet weight then dried at a temperature of 50-100o C for 3 hours, After dry on weigh in gerus until smooth. The sample was destructed with concentrated nitric acid with temperature 80o C, the sample was analyzed by using atomic absorption spectrophotometric (AAS). The results showed the highest levels of lead found in spinach is 6 mg / kg. Levels of cadmium in kale and spinach is 3 mg / kg. While the Cu content on the analysis results are still within the maximum limit. The concentration of Pb, Cd, Zn in each sample exceeds the maximum allowed by the Decree of Dit Jend POM No 03725 / B / SKVII / 89 and SNI 7387: 2009.

Through out the 80% of children AIDS victim has a prenatal infection from their mother. The aim of this study is to know the relationship between CD4 value and HIV stadium at pregnant mother infected by HIV/AIDS. A descriptive method was applied in this experiment. The sample obtained, from 22 pregnant mothers victims diagnosed of HIV/AIDS infection in Posyansus RSUP. H. Adam Malik Medan since January 2012 until June 2013. Data obtained by measuring CD4 value before and after ARV theraphy, then statistically  analyzed. The result out showed that 12 of samples (55%) have low CD4 value before ARV theraphy below 200 m3. Than, CD4 value were increased after ARV theraphy not affected by the stadium status. CD4 value before and after ARV theraphy has a negative linear corellation with HIV stadium (r = -0,743) it can be conclude that increased of CD4 value give an indirect contribution to HIV stadium victims.

This type of research is descriptive research with sampling propotional stratified random sampling method. From the data obtained is then perfomed calculation of average waste generation per capita per day, and presentage of the composation. Result of the study found that the average weight of waste generation on the Linkungan IX 0,30 Kg/soul/day, Lingkungan XI 0,37 Kg/soul/day and the Lingkungan XII 0,343 Kg/soul/day. The perecentage compotition of the organic waste of the Lingkungan IX at 57% and 43% inorganic waste, Lingkungan XI 54% organic and 40% for inorganic waste and Lingkungan XII where as 54% of organic waste inrganic 46%. Average weigth of waste to high-income households 1,03 Kg/soul/day, was 0,99 Kg/soul/day and allow 1:03 Kg/soul/day. The perecentage weigth of waste product by high-income households the Lingkungan IX, XI, XII respect tively 32%, 37%, 31%. Modereta income households in the Lingkungan IX, XI, XII respect tively 33%, 35%, 34%. Are for low-income households in the Lingkungan IX 31%,35% Lingkungan XI and XII 34%.

Abstract

The research aim was get the best medium combination of IBA dan BA to stimulated formation number of shoots of banana Barangan. The study used factorial experiment aranged in Completely Randomized Desigh (CRD). The treatment consisted of 2 factors. The frist factor was the IBA concentration, consisted of three levels 0,0 mg/l, 0,5 mg/l, and 1,0 mg/l. The second factor was BA concentration consisted of four level, 0,0 mg/l, 1,5 mg/l, 3,0 mg/l, and 4,5 mg/l. The result showed that combinations of IBA 0,0 mg/l and BA 0,5 mg/l was the best medium to induce shoot multiplication with 4,00 shoots explant. IBA concentrations had no significant effect on number of shoots. However, the IBA concentation affected the number of root explant.

Abstract

This reseach was conducted to determine the antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Eschericia coli from pandanus fragrant ethanol extract formulated in the form of hand gel antiseptic preparations. The ethanol extract was prepared by percolation using 96% ethanol solvent. Phytochemical screening is done on fragrant pandan leaves. Evaluation of hand antiseptic gel preparations included organoleptic testing, homogeneity testing, pH determination, spreading test, stability, irritation testing and antibacterial testing of Staphylococcus aureus and Eschericia coli. The results of phytochemical screening showed that the pandanus fragrant leaves contain alkaloids, tannins, saponins, flavonoids and polyphenols. The pandanus fragrant leaves ethanol extract can be formulated into hand gel antiseptic preparations because the pH is about 6.0-7.1, the spreading power is about 5.06-5.15 cm, stable for 12 weeks and organoleptically a formula with a very 2.5% concentration Favored and does not irritate the skin. The results of antibacterial activity test showed that the preparation with concentration of 10% had the strongest activity with the diameter of 13,23 mm to Staphylococcus aureus and 13,13% to Eschericia coli almost same with dettol stock on the market with diameter 16,43mm to Staphylococcus aureus and 16 , 03% against Eschericia coli.
